Central Library Rules

  • Library users shall provide their biometric data at the library entrance during entry and exit from the library.

  • Students/scholars and outsiders entering the Library shall keep their bags and other personal belongings at the Property Counter.

  • Readers are advised not to leave their valuables at the Check Point. Library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings.

  • ID card is compulsory for entering into the library.

  • Newspaper should be used at the newspaper desk only and cannot be taken to any other location inside the library.

  • Readers should not deface, mark, cut, mutilate or damage library resources in any way. If anyone is found doing so, he/she will be charged the replacement cost of the resource.

  • Photocopying facility is available in the Library at the front of the Circulation Desk. The charge per exposure is Re 1.00.

  • Conversation and discussion disturbs library ambience. Therefore, all are requested to maintain silence.

  • Users are requested to keep their mobiles in silent mode.

  • Beverages and Eatables are not allowed inside the library.

  • Only notebooks and the Library books to be returned will be allowed inside.

  • Books removed from the shelves, if not required for reference, should be returned at the Circulation Desk.

  • Faculty and staff going on leave/deputation, will have to return all borrowed material before leaving.

  • There will be a fine of Rs. 10/- per day for overdue books.

  • In case of loss of borrowers cards, Duplicate cards will be issued on payment of Rs.200/-.

  • Reference Documents like Journals, Theses, Project Reports, Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Year Books, Census, Handbooks will not be issued out.

  • No visitor or guest is permitted to use the Library without prior permission. He/She is required to produce a formal/introduction letter from the concerned Institution/Organization to which he/she is attached. Guest membership can be availed and can be applied through the respective Deans/Registrar

  • The Library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.

  • All students are advised to come to the Library as per University dress code.
